Project at a Glance
About the Sanitation Initiative
Access to household sanitation is essential for improving public health, personal dignity and the cleanliness of rural communities. Through this initiative, Ashabhav Welfare Foundation worked to strengthen household sanitation facilities in Dhanwal Khaas village, Prayagraj.
The project constructed 130 twin-pit household toilets featuring durable iron-shed superstructures and twin-chamber soak pits. Despite seasonal rains and material supply disruptions, the team completed the project within the project timeline, achieving 100% project completion and full utilisation of the grant.
Our Approach
We believe that lasting sanitation improvements require more than infrastructure alone. Alongside toilet construction, the project included community mobilisation and volunteer training to encourage behavioural change and regular toilet usage by all families.
